Uzès is one of Provence’s gems. It’s one of the most historic and well-preserved towns in the region and is nationally known for its extensive Saturday market. The town is indeed a collection of medieval and Renaissance masterpieces. The heritage includes famous poet Jean Racine (1639-99) and literature Nobel Prize winner Andre Gide.
