Enter a gate into a secure, flower-lined private street street of three houses to find this fully restored and redesigned townhouse with steel and glass facade, and a terrace looking out over the  Uzès countryside.  It's three stories starts with the professionally equipped kitchen (the owner is a famous Chef here and gives cooking classes when she is in residence), a  large dining table, with cooking or dining, and all the modern appliances that any cook would want. An exceptional plate collection of antique French plates adds to the charm. There is also a bathroom on this floor. Climb the stairs, amusingly colored like a piano keyboard, to a spacious, comfortable and colorful living room. Large picture windows and a centuries old fireplace add to the mood. Climb a spiral stairs here to your restful bedroom and ensuite bathroom, with shower. There is a coffee and tea station off the bedroom, if you need your caffeine fix first thing, and then a wonderful, large covered terrace to open your bedroom to the out of doors. Neighborhood

Then there is Uzès; if you do not already know it, it is a picture-perfect, South of France Medieval and Renaissance town, famed for twice weekly markets, its  beauty, culture, festivals, food, wine and a lifestyle you won't want to give up. Stay awhile in this real home and you will soon feel like a local, browsing the shops, walking to restaurants, and sipping wine in the Place  aux Herbes, or on the Boulevard. Getting Around

You will not want to miss the nearby Pont du Gard,  a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to visit and revisit.

Further afield lie all of the glorious attractions of Provence and the Languedoc. The historic city of Nîmes, with its well-preserved Roman Arena and the Maison Carrée, a perfect Roman temple, its Roman Heritage and Modern art Museums, plus lovely fountain and gardens, is only 25 minutes away. Avignon the City of the Popes on the River Rhone is 40 minutes away.

Within an hour's drive lie ancient Arles, lovely St. Remy-de-Provence, dramatic Les Baux-de Provence, the Mediterranean Sea and the Camargue, as well as thriving Montpellier. A bit further away, you will enjoy Aix-en-Provence, Cassis, Marseille, and the Luberon. 

Take the time to breathe in the scents of the South, the lavender and thyme, jasmine, rosemary, and the garrigue. Explore the cafes and the markets and the multi-faceted experience of living Provence and its backwaters, enjoying the scenery, the history, the food and the wines.
