Provence Vacation Rentals and Luxury Villa Rentals

One of the most sought after parts of Europe for visiting, and living. An important colony for the Romans, it remains an important attraction today for French and foreigners. The Romans colony of Provincia (hence "Provence") was established in 120BC at Aix-en-Provence. The Romans left their mark in countless monuments, including such notable edifices as the Arena and the "Maison Carré" Temple at Nîmes, the Pont du Gard Aquaduct, the Theatre at Orange, and the Amphitheater at Arles. Extraordinary architecture in Romanesque and Gothic styles can be found all over the region. One of the notable features are the hilltop medieval towns and villages, vestiges of the violent period of more than a thousand years following the end of Roman rule. These are fascinating and attractive spots for visitors, some notable examples being Roussillon, Gordes, and Les Beaux-de-Provence. Dramatic fortified castles can be found at Tarascon, Sisteron, Barbaren, Murs, Thouzon and of course the Palace of the Popes at Avignon. Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is home to some glorious large bastides and villas rental.   You won't want to miss strolling the narrow, cobbled streets, of St. Rémy-de-Provence, famous for the time that  Vincent van Gogh spent there. Amidst its cooling fountains and shady squares, where its farmers' market, fine restaurants, charming cafés, and elegant boutiques abound, this city is the perfect place to escape for your holiday getaway. This historic village is also built on one of the oldest archaeological sites in Europe. Amongst other treasures, you will find the remains of the "Comptoir de Glanum" founded in the 3rd century BC and then passed into Roman hands under Julius Caesar. St. Remy de Provence is one of the most romantic and charming cities in France and we invite you to experience it all when you stay in one of our villa rentals. If you enjoy farmers markets, browsing for antiques and like French style, you won't want to miss a visit to L’Isle-Sur-la-Sorgue.  This delightful Provencal town is heaven on earth and a short trip from most of our rentals in Provence and Uzès. When you aren’t shopping, you will enjoy its many pleasant restaurants, and cafe’s, many with river views. Then you will have time to visit some of the famous towns, not too far away. Later,  artists, like Van Gogh, Cezanne, Picasso, also brought it fame through their talent. This extraordinary panorama of history is accompanied by dramatic landscapes and the gastronomic bounty of nature, wonderful wines, like its crisp dry Rosé, and its world-famous Côte de Rhône, olives  and olive oil, and a never-ending, season, kaleidoscope of luscious fruits and vegetables. The cuisine of Provence is renowned not only for being one of the tastiest and most delightful anywhere but also as one of the healthiest – an enviable combination!
