"Mio Giardino Romano", the apartment of a Roman photographer, will delight you with its blend of modern art and historic detail, like its original tiled floors, and lovely antique pieces of furniture. Its three rooms, living room, bedroom, and large, eat-in, kitchen are all spacious and light-filled. It's special treat is the private garden, where you can enjoy meals outdoors through many months of Rome's beautiful weather. The apartment is perfect for a couple or for a family, as the living room has two sofa beds, suitable for two children.
You can stroll narrow, cobbled streets lined by medieval houses, bars and restaurants. It's neighborhood is both quiet and and active with some of Rome's best neighborhood restaurants offering excellent value, and either traditional or creative cuisine. We will be pleased to furnish you with a list. Outdoor markets and both charming and funky shops line the streets, too. At night both Romans and foreigners flock here. A visit to the historic fifth century Church of Santa Cecilia is a must. The church of Santa Maria in Cappella can be seen from your window. Take a short walk across the Ponte Garibaldi and you are in Rome's Historic Center, and the Piazza Farnese, the Campo di Fiori. You are also a adjacent to the Isola di Tiberina (Tiber Island), historic and charming. Mio Giardino Romano will make you want to stay in Rome forever.
We loved our extended stay at "Il Giardino". I had studied in Rome many years ago, and always wanted to come back and live for a while as an Italian. I particularly liked Trastevere because it was so lively, and wanted to live in a friendly neighborhood close to everything I needed -- grocery store, restaurants, a good place for coffee and a panino, laundry and dry cleaners, etc. Il Giardino is all of thatt.
The apartment itself is cozy, warm and comfortable -- definitely reflects the owner's interest in art. Everything is close or, if you are seniors as we are, an easy cab ride away. It was pleasant walking over the bridges -- Palatino, Cestio, Fabricio, Sisto -- to all the places I wanted to visit. After a day of sightseeing or shopping, I especially enjoyed returning to the apartment an relaxing in the tranquil garden. It felt far from the bustle of Rome.
The real jewels are the owners, who made everything so easy. As an added bonus, Santa Cecilia -- one of the more charming but overlooked churches of Rome with wonderful frescoes -- is just around the corner!
We love to see guests appreciate the Roman life and the surroundings of our wonderful city and allits facets.
We had a great to Rome at the end of October, felt like locals staying by staying at Mio Giardino Romano. The apartment is full of character, close to everything and a real gem. Our children 7 and 10 were comfortable sleeping on the daybeds in the living room, and it only took a minute or two to make the beds up in the morning, returning it to a space for everyone. Plenty of storage closets, so no need to clutter up any of the rooms with luggage.
I am delighted that you enjoyed your stay in "Il Mio Giardino Romano". and that you were able to introduce your children to Rome in such a lovely setting. We really appreciate that you took the time to write. I do hope that you get to come back soon.
